BABY SHOW.
THE CHAMPION PRIZE,
The champion prize of 25 guineaawarded for the champion baby was decided by the public, every visitor to theshow being entitled to one vote. These were recorded on coupons attached to tickets, and were deposited in boxes. The boxes were opened this morning at the Albert Hotel in the presence of Mr F. Maccabe, director of the Show, Mr George Buller, manager, and a large number of fathers, mothers, and babies interested. The public bad evidently experienced very little difficulty in selecting the Champion baby, for only two wore "in it" from the outset till the finish. The counting occupied three or four hours, and when the totals were made up it was found that tho winner was a handsome boy of 7 months 2 weeks, named Leslie, the child of Henry and Sarah Watts, East-street, Newton. His total was 433, and as the next in order had only 279 votes, Leslie Watts was awarded the champion prize without question, this baby having received the firsb prize of five guineas in Class D, for boys from six to twelve months, according to prior arrangements, that prizo now passes to Arthur Cyril, child of Alfred John and Elizabeth Barriball, Rose Road, Surrey Hills, Newton, which received second prize in the same class; and the second prize passes to Edgar Walter, child of John and Bridget Porter, Panmure.
