Site Etiquette

#1 | Posted: 28 Jan 2007 21:03
I have just joined your site and its a great idea. I was just wondering about the etiquette for making changes to existing information on the site. Do I contact the source and get their agreement to the changes before uploading them? If so how do I make contact with another member? Regards John Lyden

Etiquette rules (to date!) are in your joining instructions:
- protect the rights and privacy of living individuals by limiting birth dates to year only and excluding email, telephone and current address details unless permission has been specifically granted by those individuals
- allow other members to Edit your online tree (we strongly advise you to maintain personal backups of your tree offline)
- respect other members interpretation of their past
- ensure that information you provide can be offered freely for sharing

If you feel you have better knowledge you should update the record.
You can only contact other members through this forum or the site administrator.

Let us know where we can improve.
