Bosworth Field, Market Bosworth, Leicestershire, England |
Henry VII Tudor's defeat of Yorkist Richard III, ended the Plantagenet dynasty and began the Tudor dynasty. Historically, the battle is considered to have marked the end of the Wars of the Roses, although further battles were fought in the years that followed as Yorkist pretenders unsuccessfully fought to reclaim the crown. The battle was perhaps the last significant Medieval battle. Richard III was the last English king to die in battle. Bosworth Field then known as then known as Redemore or Dadlington Field |
